A lot of us slept on this: that
Kanye West released a song on new year’s eve! I can’t blame us all here in
Nigeria, not with all the brouhaha that has been happening in Nigeria ever
since the new year broke.
Mr West in continuing with what’s
become an annual tradition, celebrated New Year’s Eve with the unexpected
release of the new song titled "Facts".
The song seem to be a diss track
aimed at a multi-billion dollar corporation with lines from
the song pointing to American
footwear giants, Nike with whom Kanye had a deal with before their partnership
fizzled and he had to team up with German rivals, Adidas.
'Ye decided to say
goodbye to 2015 by counting the ways in which his new corporate ally surpasses
its predecessor.
The song also seem to be inspired by
the excitement surrounding the Jordan Brand-referencing “Jumpman” song by Drake and Future.

they wouldn’t have nothin’”
“Nike out here bad, they can’t
give sh-t away”
“I ain’t dropped the album but
the shoes went platinum” he boasts
