At least four universities have been hit by the recent students protests due to an increase in fees. A South African privately owned  news site eNCA had published a video of Rhodes University students protesting against an increase in tuition fees in Grahamstown city.

The footage showed Rhode Students marching through the streets of Grahamstown. Twitter was awash with #Rhodes #FeesMustFall

A South African journalist also tweeted about a violent incident during a university student protest in the main city, Johannesburg, against higher tuition fees: Students chased a car down and beat up the driver, breaking his window. Chaos. Pontsho Pilane posted the news just recently.
