Remember how after the first month of this new season of the
English Premier League, football pundits went on and on about how Manchester City
were going to run away with the League title? Well, three games later that has
all changed and it’s just the second month.
Man city’s stellar start to the EPL has proved to be a
mirage after all. Now jungle don mature
and they’ve not only lost their unbeaten run, they’ve also lost back to back
games. It seems Drake had them in mind when he did the Meek Mill diss track, ‘back
to back’… Maybe.
After being stunned by two goals to one at the city of
Manchester stadium by West ham last weekend, that should have four-one’d forewarned them of the
danger ahead. But no. They travelled with their heads up high to Tottenham this
Saturday and did IGG (Initial Gra Gra)
by getting the first goal. Long story short, they left White Hart Lane with
their heads bowed after Tottenham walloped them by four goals to one.

Pellegrini left first goalkeeper, Joe hart and
Defender/captain, Vincent Kompany on the bench due to the upcoming champions
league match this week, opting to start Willy Caballero and Otamendi in their
places and as it turned out, these decisions cost him dearly. Caballero was
particularly woeful in goal, letting in cheap goals.

Stars like Yaya Toure, Sergio Aguero, Raheem Sterling,
Sagna,Kolarov and De Bruyne showed their qualities in the first half as Man City comfortably controlled play and registered a goal through De Bruyne.
This all came undone towards the end of the first half when Eric Dier
got an equaliser for the spurs. City was totally blown away by the superior
attacking play of Tottenham and this was compounded with goals from Alderweireld, Lamela and,
Harry Kane finally got his first goal of the season.

In all, it was a bad day at the office for Manchester city
as they have now been replaced at the top of the league by bitter rivals, Man
United.
