The much anticipated Lagos International Marathon has finally come and gone but the glamour and memories of the epoch-making event would last us a long time; at least till February 11, 2017 when the next edition is scheduled to take place.
It was a day of joy for participants, organisers and spectators (both on the road, via TV and via social media) alike especially for Abraham Kipton from Kenya who won the $50,000 first prize

and Philip Sharubutu from Nasarawa State who was the first Nigerian to cross the finish line (though he came 7th overall), and thus, received the cash prize of N1million.
Not everybody shared the joy of the events; especially Lagosians who didn't know about the road restriction and were thus stranded at bus stops, or in the hectic traffic jam that the marathon caused. Worse hit were people who had appointments or events (especially weddings) fixed for today. Some like this bride had to trek to their destination...ehyah.
While others found out say marathon no be beans...
In all, it was a celebration of Lagos and sports in Nigeria...
