The English Premier League has revealed a new look logo which will be used from the start of the 2016-17 season. The lion wearing a crown, which has been the face of the league since its launch in 1992, has now undergone a makeover to give it a fresh, modern look.
The current official sponsor, Barclays, has opted not to renew their 40million pounds a year deal which expires at the end of this current season; thus, the league will no longer have a named sponsor as all 20 clubs in the league have agreed to a new centralised sponsorship
strategy. This means that, as from August, the league will be known simply as 'the Premier League'![]() |

Immediately this news was annouced on Twitter via the league's official twitter handle @premierleague, fans reactions started pouring in and most of them was hilarious and disappoving of the new logo. Someone even commented that the lion on the new logo has sadness in his eyes while another wondered why they didn't give the lion a bigger crown...
