Madam Ogere Siasia, mother of the U-23 Men's National Team, Samson Siasia, has been abducted from her residence in Odoni village, Saghama Local Government Area of Bayelsa state on Monday by yet-to-be-identified gunmen.
According to eyewitnesses, the gunmen stormed the residence where she lives with her aged husband in the early hours of the day. The abductors forced tjeir way through the back door and whisked the aged woman away on a motorbike despite pleas from her husband to "leave

There has been no report of the gunmen reaching the family for any ransome. Meanwhile, Sanson Siasia, who is with his Dream Team VI team in Gambia for the African 2016 Rio Olympics' qualification tournament, has expressed shock at this development and pleaded with the abductors to release his mother so that he can concentrate on getting Nigeria a ticket to compete at the Olympics in Brazil next year.
