Prince Abubabakar Audu, the APC governorship candidate for
Kogi state is dead.
News of his demise came out late yesterday (Sunday, Nov. 22, 2015) although reports
claim he died at about five in the morning. According to family sources who spoke
to Daily Post, the statesman started vomiting blood before he finally gave up
the ghost.
While a lot of speculations abound about the cause of death;
some suggests he died of Cardiac arrest while others attribute the death to
“spiritual attack, the official report is that he died
of undisclosed medical
reasons.
A relative that spoke to the media narrated how he died
thus:
“I spoke with someone in late Prince Audu’s family. The
person told me that the former governor repeatedly vomited blood. The family
tried to rush him to the hospital but he died in the process.
“There is speculation of food poison or spiritual attack but
no one can say for now. But his family confided in me that blood kept gushing
from his mouth.”
According to reports making the rounds, Audu would be buried
in his hometown today (Monday). This is in accordance with the Islamic rites that
stipulate that the dead should be buried within 24 hours of death. In Light
of this, an autopsy is unlikely to be carried out on his body to ascertain the real
cause of death.
