Ever since President Buhari was sworn in as President, Diezani has stayed away from the country. She was sworn in as Minister of Petroleum Resources under former President Goodluck Jonathan in February 2010 and remained till May 29 2015.
When she was minister, dubious oil marketers stole trillions of naira from the fuel subsidy funds, the House of Representatives called her to order after they made investigations but Allison Madueke kept her stance and refused to admit these allegations of missing money, the most notable among them being $20 billion in 2014.
Apart from these, other allegations were made against he rsuch as the N30.9 billion which she paid to contractors while she held office as transport minister in 2009 and the charter and maintenance of her Challenger 850 aircraft.
The presidency has refused to comment on the former minister's arrest since she may be guilty of all the offenses.
