As I read this story you’re about
to read, my body just weak; the story just scatter me. I had to put myself
together to write this. Like, I’m dulling here when I can date a Pastor who can
follow what Ephesians 5:25, “Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved
the church and gave himself up for her.”
A pastor, alongside 5 leaders of a
Singaporean mega-church, was just convicted for using $36m of church money to
fund his wife, Sun Ho’s, rap career!
Pastor Hong Kee, the General
Overseer, and the other church leaders failed to persuade the judge that the
scheme was legit. They tried to convince the judge that financing Ho’s career
would help “spread the gospel” through secular music.
43-year-old Ho (pun unintended o,
dirty mind), who performed under the
stage name “SUN aka Geisha” sang sexually-charged lyrics while clad like a
ho in skimpy clothes. She wasn’t accused of any offence.
Pastor Kee was convicted of
stealing $17m ear-marked for building and investments by using fake bond
investments to hide the spending on Ho’s career. They used $18.5m to hide the fraud from the auditors. Altogether how $36m! For music career!
The church people, his
congregation, vexed and entered the court. They vehemently supported their “Daddy
in the Lord”. They said that the funds were used to finance a “crossover
project” to use Sun Ho as the public face and voice of the church in a bid to
take the club to the church.
The thieves pastors should
be looking at a lifetime in jail for breach of trust. That’s the sentence in
Singapore. They have no chill there.
P.S. Ho and her hubby founded the
City Harvest Church in 1989 and they have grown into one of Singapore’s largest
church with a congregation of 14,500.
