A blogger is presently not having this best time of his life after controversially alleging that Genevieve Nnaji, Nigerian star actress, is having an illicit affair with the Managing Director of UBA, Phillip Oduoza. This allegation has landed him in jail.
Entertainment blogger Desmond Ike Chima was picked up by the Federal Criminal Investigation Department for the contentious report with the headline “Randy UBA MD, Phillips Oduoza In Adultery Mess, Romances Star Actress, Genevieve Nnaji.”
Chima who is the publisher of myemag.net and e-Nigeria.com has worked with several softsell magazines before before he became a blogger.
When his case came before an Igbosere high court, prosecutors said that Ike wrote the story to allegedly extort money from the UBA MD. Ike pleaded not guilty to his 5-count charge of felony.
“That you Desmond Ike Chima and others still at large at the said date and place did publish or distribute an article deemed to be obscene against Phillips Oduoza entitled: RANDY UBA PLC MD, PHILLIPS ODUOZA’S WIFE TO DIVORCE HIM OVER AFFAIR WITH ACTRESS GENEVIEVE NNAJI” read part of the charge.
After pleading not guilty to the charges, Ike was granted N100, 000 bail. Court proceedings will resume on October 30.
