This is definitely not the best of times for Renowned Neurosurgeon
and American presidential aspirant under the Republican Party, Dr. Ben Carson,
as he has repeatedly come under fire for his constant verbal misfire.
The inner-city-kid-turned-success-story is definitely realising just how dirty politics can be,
and it seems he has developed the skill of speaking with both sides of your
mouth even if it’s not honourable, like politicians do.
He has made a lot of
controversial comments which has seen him become infamous with people who once
held him in high esteem. This has also shot him up to second position in the republican polls,
behind fellow presidential aspirant, the loquacious and controversial business tycoon, Donald Trump.
Ben Carson's latest comments, after the horrific Oregon school
shooting which left nine people dead and nine others injured, have left even
more people questioning his sanity.
After the shootings, the republican who is opposed to gun
control wrote on his facebook page that:
"Never saw a body with bullet holes more devastating than loss of gun rights"
Also, at an interview, when asked how he would act if he
were to be a student trapped in a school shooting, he said:
"Not only would I probably not co-operate with him (the shooter), I would not just stand there and let him shoot me. I would say: 'Hey, guys, everybody attack him! He may shoot me, but he can't get us all!'" (Implying that the victims were cowards to be killed).
This latest remarks led to a major outrage with people ranging from John Legend,
to former CNN Anchor, Piers Morgan:
registering their anger and concern at Ben carson’s rising “stupidity”.
