FIFA president Sepp Blatter is appealing against his 90- day ban which was announced on Thursday. He was suspended along with secretary general Jerome Valicke and vice- president Michel Platini who were all found guilty of money related offences which FIFA's ethics committee began investigating last quarter.
Blatter's friend and adviser Klaus Stohiker intimated the media that the FIFA president has appealed to FIFA committee defending his position. All three of the banned officials have denied the allegations and Platini himself is said to have also appealed.
Blatter won a fifth consecutive presidential election in May, after which FIFA began investigations into his allegations. Some have questioned his desire to be reinstated. Chairman of Former Football Association, David Bernstein told newsmen "Blatter is a fool to himself stay on for so long."
The Septuagenarian president of FIFA is due to finish his tenure in February 26 when a new president will be elected.
