47 cows worth over N10m have been squashed to death by a train in Osogbo, Osun State, when the coach separated from a train.
The episode happened at the rear of the provincial office of the Transmission Company of Nigeria, Power line zone around 3pm.
It was assembled that the last coach of a Kwara State-bound train unexpectedly segregated and ran over the creatures.
Addressing journalists, a herder distinguished as Rabiu Ismail, told journalists that the dead creatures were worth over N 10m.
As per Ismail, he and his individual herders were moving with their creatures in the region when they heard a boisterous commotion as the last coach separated from the body of the train.
""We just heard a loud noise and the animals were moving not far from the rail line. Many of them were crushed. About 47 animals worth N10m were lost." he mourned.
