The police have said a young boy of 17 was raped in a church graveyard in a "dreadful ordeal" in a church graveyard in Eccles, Greater Manchester. The teenager, whose identity is hidden due to security reasons, was walking through the town centre close to midnight when a stranger approached him and struck up conversation.
As they walked through the graveyard, on Church Road, the culprit punched the boy in the stomach before proceeding to rape him.
It was gathered that a man and a woman later found him and took him to
hospital and the victim is now under the care and support of specially trained
officers. While forensic officers searched the area, a police cordon was put in
place to make room for detailed investigation.
That same day of the incident, a 30-year-old man was apprehended on count of rape in the grounds of the Eccles Parish Church in Eccles, Greater Manchester though he has since been released under scrutiny pending further investigations.
Metro UK reports that the Police are now in search for the man and woman who dropped the teenager at the hospital. Reports say they were driving a silver coloured car and brought the boy at 1.40am.
GMP’s Salford Detective Constable Stephen Hough, said: "Specialist officers are continuing to support the teenager and his family as he recovers from this terrible ordeal and we’re continuing to work hard to ensure the person responsible is held to account.
Whilst we have arrested a man as part of our enquiries, our investigation remains ongoing and we know that a man and woman driving a silver car dropped the boy off at hospital at around 1.40am.
I want to stress that they aren’t in any trouble but we really need to speak to them as part of our investigations so I would appeal directly to them to get in touch with us as soon as possible."
