Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, has said that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is no match for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the coming Ekiti state governorship poll and the 2019 general elections in the country.

Ayodele Fayose stated this on Saturday in Osogbo, Osun State during the South-West Zonal Rally of the PDP.
Fayose, who described the PDP as a sleeping lion that has been aroused, also said that whoever emerges as the APC candidate for the Ekiti election would be defeated by his party’s candidate.

He said:
“Nigerians have seen the deceit called the APC and their failed government. They can see the difference. The PDP is a lion that has been woken from sleep.
“We are taking over at the federal level next year and by the grace of God, we are winning the Ekiti governorship election. We have done well in the running of the state and our continuity agenda stands firm.
“When we defeated the APC in all the 16 local government areas of the state in 2014, they went to town with a lot of lies.
“Now their party is in control at the federal level, we are waiting for the excuse they will give, as they will suffer another humiliating defeat again.”
Governor Ayodele Fayose also took to twitter some few hours ago to blast the APC on the violence that erupted at the Party's primary election that took place in Ekiti earlier today
He wrote:
If they could be this violent during their own primary election, won't they do worse things during the election proper? INEC must be mindful of being used to manipulate the July 14 election in favour of APC. More so that they have by their conduct today, failed themselves.
The whole world can now see the so-called progressives. Ordinary primary election, the APC could not hold here in Ekiti. These people are hypocrites and enemies of democracy, masquerading as progressives.Their party is a house divided against itself, it's center will never hold.
