A lady identified as Nunu, was in the news some few days ago for slashing her boyfriend's throat in Sapele, Delta State. The update on the story is that the lady has pleaded for forgiveness and maintained that it was the devil that pushed her into the act.
The victim, Osagie Ikede is in stable condition and being cared for at the hospital by two of his lovers, who takes shift, one cleaning him up, the other takes care of the feeding.
Speaking to The Advocate, from her hide-out, Nunu said the story that was circulated in the media was false. She claimed she had been enduring days of abuse from her boyfriend:
"All what Obage said was not true, though we have been dating for 3 months as claimed, Obagie has been treating me badly and I have been enduring so many abuses from him,"
Nunu, who was looking un-kept and visibly distressed, said that though they have been having problems, they had their ways of settling it. She however maintained that her action was not intentional, that the boyfriend had provoked her into slashing his throat.
"We love each other and it was never intentional that this happened, he slapped me and I was angry. The razor blade was not meant to harm him, I had actually bought the razor blade to cut my nail, but when he came shouting angrily that I had reported him to his mother, which led to him slapping me, I attacked him out of provocation."I am sorry for what has happened; it is the devil’s handwork. I want Obagie and his family to forgive me. I still love him and I am sure he love me too Nunu pleaded.
She explained that she was ready to bear the cost of his medical treatment, “but nobody has reached me, I even bought provision for him please beg Obagie for me.”
