Marcus Volke, a 28-year-old chef is said to have made a chilling
phone call to an electrician while he tried to cook his murdered
girlfriend in a broth.
According to Metro UK, Marcus Volke contacted Brad Coyne when the
power went out at his home in Brisbane, Australia, in October 2014.
The electricity became faulty after he murdered s*x worker Mayang
Prasetyo, 27, and then tried to dispose of her body by cutting it up and
boiling it.
This caused the power to short-circuit after the pan boiled over.

‘G’day, is this a 24-hour electrician?’ he said. ‘Yeah
I got a bit of a problem. Um, I was cooking on my stove, it’s an
electric stove and the stock pot boiled over, dripped down and got into
the oven and basically made this big bang and then all the power turned
off.
‘Does it sound like something you’d be able to fix today?’
When Mr Coyne attended the home in Teneriffe, a suburb of the city,
a few hours later he was met with a horrible smell that Volke said was
down to a ‘pig’s broth’ he was cooking.
The electrician also spotted garbage bags and chemicals in the home, which made him suspicious.

Once he had restored the power he contacted the building manager, who then notified the police about a potential problem.
‘We went into the bathroom which had laundry in it and there
was a cupboard that had the washing machine in it – which I didn’t know
at the time had bits of his wife’s body in it, like her head and arms,’ Mr Coyne told the Scottish Daily Record in 2014.
After two police officers arrived at the home Volke made a run for it and eventually killed himself by cutting his own throat.
Constable Liam McWhinney then found Ms Prasetyo’s body parts cooking on the stove.
‘Originally I thought it was some sort of sick prank… Halloween
or something — when I put two and two together, I realised it wasn’t a
prank,’ he said during an inquest that will determine the circumstances of the murder suicide.
The inquest began today and will continue for three days.
