American sprinter Justin Gatlin won silver with 9.89 seconds while Canada’s De Grasse won bronze with 9.91 seconds.
This brings Bolt’s haul of Olympic gold medals to seven.
Speaking to reporters after the race, Bolt said he was confident of winning two more medals.
“After the semi-finals I felt extremely good but we did
not have a long turnaround time after the semi-final so it was
challenging. The triple treble is on without a doubt.
“Somebody said I can become immortal. Two more medals to go and I can sign off. Immortal.”
