See the throwback Photo of President Muhammadu Buhari visiting Tekuru Waterside in Bodo-Gokana, Ogoni Kingdom in Rivers state on the 15th of August 1984. The visit had been to commission a fish pond.
Now the whole community is a pond of waste-land devoured by the activities of the oil tapping vampires in the area, who have totally neglected the people of the communities.
Even the past governments have not done so well in alleviating the problems of these people. They have left their lands to waste, their fishes are dead, vegetation are dead. The people suffer.
Well, at last succor is here. The President has commissioned the clean up of the land. and the clean up is said to have created thousands of jobs to the inhabitant of the affected communities, and not only that, the ulterior benefit will be the restoration of their lands.
