It was a sad event on Tuesday as students that were coming down to Lagos to represent Kano State in the National Quiz competition had an accident along the Lagos-Ibadan express way. 8 persons lost their lives and some were seriously injured.

Bodies of the 8 persons who lost their lives arrived Kano this yesterday evening. The students and bodies were received at Kano International Airport by the State Governor, Dr.Abdullahi Umar Ganduje and other state officials. More photos after the cut

Information available indicated that 3 students of Unity School Karaye and 3 from Kano Kapital as well as a driver and coordinator of competition lost their lives in the accident. A total of 8 persons lost their lives: 6 students and two officials while 5 students sustained some degree of injuries.
