The Delta state Police has arrested a man from Idumu-Ille Quarters, Umunede in Ika North-East Local Government Area of the state for allegedly killing his friend, Goody Ndidi Osafiele, over N800 debt.
According to reports, the deceased had gone to the suspect last saturday to demand for the N800 the suspect owed him. Sources say the suspect's refusal to pay his debt led to an exchange of words which resulted in a fight between the two men.
In the course of the fight, the suspect is reported to have hit the deceased with a hard object
and he died on the spot.
The family of the deceased has since vowed to get to the root of the matter as they believe the suspect killed their relative deliberately.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Mrs. Celestina Kalu, who
confirmed the killing, said the suspect was currently helping the police
in their investigation.
