The senior Army officer, Colonel Samaila Inusa, who was abducted on Sunday March 27, 2016, in Kaduna has been found dead.
According to a statement by the Acting Director, Army Public Relations, Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman, the Colonel's body, which was already decomposing, was found on Tuesday, March 29, around 6.00pm.
“Preliminary investigation revealed that most likely the senior officer was killed same day he was kidnapped by his abductors because the body was found already decomposing around Ajyaita village off Eastern Bypass Kaduna, Kaduna State," Usman said.
“Arrangements are in progress to move the body to 44 Nigerian Army Reference Hospital, Kaduna."
Pulse recalls that late Colonel Inusa was kidnapped around Kamazo area, near Refinery Junction in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State last Sunday after the abductors intercepted his car, with his wife inside.
It was gathered that they later dropped off his wife and left with him as they travelled along the Abuja-Kaduna road.
The deceased served at the Nigerian Army School of Infantry Jaji in Kaduna State.
