Ese Oruru, the 14-year-old Bayelsa girl who was allegedly abducted by a Kano man, Yinusa from her mother's shop in Bayelsa, has now regained her freedom.
She has been rescued from her abductors in Kano where she was made to change her religion to Islam and married by Yinusa. According to reports, she is now in custody of the Police from whence she would be re-united with her parents.
The story of Ese's abduction, conversion of religion and marriage without her parent's
consent had sparked major outrage over the weekend when the story was made front page on Sunday Punch. There were calls from concerned Nigerians to #FreeEse and these have now borne fruits as it has been confirmed that Ese is now in the Federal Government's custody.
