According to reliable sources close to Vanguard, 14 year old Ese Oruru who was on Tuesday re-united with her mum at the Police headquarters in Abuja after been abducted by a Kano man since August 2015, has been discovered to be about five months pregnant.
It was gathered this was the reason why she wore the big white hijab on her arrival from Kano to Abuja. The hijab was allegedly to cover the pregnancy.
It was also speculated that it was this condition that made the IGP, Solomon Arase, direct
that she be handed to the Gender and Child Protection Unit so that a team from the medical department of the Force would carry out a comprehensive medical examination on her at the Police Medical facility in Area 1, Garki.
Upon certifying her medical status, the IGP was reported to have been uncomfortable with Mrs. Oruru's arrangement to travel back to Yenagoa with her daughter by road and directed that they should be flown by air.
The IGP has also directed the Bayelsa Police Command to take over the investigation into the crimes committed by her abductor, Yinusa Dahiru since the offence was committed in Bayelsa and it is also the place of his residence. Consequently, Yinusa who had since been in the custody of the Kano police command would be moved to Yenagoa to face charges of kidnapping and child abuse as well as violence against a girl-child.
