Remember the Egyptian man, Seif Eldin Mustafa, who hijacked an EgyptAir plane and forced it to land in Cyprus just so he can deliver a letter to his estranged wife? The latest gist coming from the love-lorn desperado hijacker story is this new picture that surfaced of him posing for a selfie with one of his hostage while he was holding them hostage.
Ben Innes, a 26-year-old British Health and Safety auditor who was amongst the EgyptAir passengers taken hostage during the six-hor hijacking drama, somehow connvinced the psychologically unstable hijacker to pose for a picture with him which he sent to his family
and friends back home even while the hijacking was still going on; bragging that, "You know your boy doesn't f*ck around.
When of his friends who hadn't gotten the news of the ongoing hijacking replied "WTF?!! Is that a bomb attached to the guy's chest? You OK? Let us know when you get off.", he just texted back, "Turn on the news lad!"
"I'm not sure why I did it," Ben said after the hijacker finally surrendered to authorities. "I just threw caution to the wind while trying to stay cheerful in the face of adversity. I figured if his bomb was real, I'd nothing to lose anyway, so took a chance to get a closer look at it."
He explained how he got Seif Eldin Mustafa, the hijacker to take a selfie with him:
"I got one of the cabin crew to translate for me and asked if I could do a selfie with him. He just shrugged Ok, so I stood by him and smiled for the camera while a stewardess did the snap.
"It has to be the best selfie ever!" Ben declared.
One wonders what kind of guts this man has to cheerfully take a selfie with a someone holding you hostage with bomb strapped on...pretty sure the other hostages would be wetting their pants at that moment or saying their last prayers.
Like Ben's roommate said, "He's not afraid to shy away from anything. I find it pretty mental, but that's just Ben, I guess!"
Though, it has now been confirmed that the hijacker was wearing a fake suicide belt, you can't help but wonder what if he was a real terrorist?
