John Mikel Obi was the unlikely hero in Chelsea's 2-1 defeat to PSG in their UEFA Champions League 1st leg in Paris. The midfielder scored the crucial away goal ahead of the return leg at Chelsea's Stamford bridge.
Mikel scored on the stroke of half-time to cancel out Ibrahimovic's freekick which he (Mikel) deflected into his own net. Although PSG went on to score a second goal via substitute, Edinson Cavani in the second half, the blues still have a life line as away goals matter a lot in
the Champions league.
The goal is Mikel's second ever champions league for Chelsea and his sixth competitive goal for the London side in 356 appearances for the club.
This means Chelsea who have struggled this season only have to beat PSG (who are high flying in the French League) by one goal in the return leg at home in London in three weeks time.
