Legendary South African Christian cleric and anti-apartheid hero, Bishop Desmond Tutu's daughter, Mpho Tutu, has tied the knots with her Lesbian lover in Netherlands in a ceremony that was attended by the Nobel Peace Prize recipient.
Mpho Tutu is the youngest daughter of Archbishop Desmond and his wife, Leah Tutu. She is also an ordained Episcopal priest and currently the executive director of the Desmond and Leah Tutu Legacy Foundation.
She was previously married to a man, Joseph Burris with whom she has two children.
She is now married her Dutch lesbian lover, Marceline Van Furth who is a professor in Paediatric Infectious Diseases at the Vrije University in Amsterdam and also holds the Desmond Tutu Chair in Medicine at the University.
The private wedding ceremony took place last Wednesday and the couple plan on hosting another ceremony in Cape Town, South Africa this year, reports say.
South Africa is the only African country that allows same-sex marriage while Bishop Tutu himself has always advocated against homophobia.
