Nigeria's Under 23 Men Football team, Dream Team VI, has picked a ticket
to the 2016 olympic games in Brazil after beating Sengal in the Semifinal of the CAN
U23 tournament in Dakar on Wednesday.
The CAN competition also doubles as the qualification round to pick
Africa’s representatives to the Olympics. The top three countries qualify automatically for the
Olympics while the 4th placed team would head to a play-off with an
Asian country.
The Samson Siasia-tutored side secured one of the three
automatic tickets by beating hosts Senegal 1-0, to qualify for the final. The
lone goal was scored by Ogenekaro Etebo through a 76th minute penalty.
Senegal and South Africa would face off in the 3rd- place match to see who picks the third automatic ticket.
