The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Bayelsa has suffered a great blow, following the decamping of 2,000 members of the party, including some of the Governor’s aides, to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
This took place, during the official presentation of the APC flag to the party’s Governorship candidate in the state, Chief Timipre Sylva.
Sylva, while receiving the new APC members, alongside the National Chairman of the APC, Odigie-Oyegun, said “A new day is dawning over Bayelsa State. I want to assure you that I am now readier than before to govern you.
“I equally want to assure you that I will not use your money to marry more wives as some people are doing. I will also promise not to take another man’s wife. All those will go with the PDP administration.”
Recently, 1,000 APC youths decamped to PDP
Chief Timipre Sylva was first elected as Governor of Bayelsa, on election on May 29, 2007.
