Governor of Rivers state, Chief Wike Nyesom, has strongly warned the members of the Indigenous People of Biafra who disrupted social and economic activities in the state capital on Tuesday under the guise of protesting the arrest of Nnamdi Kanu, against any such insidious actions again by any body or group in the state.
The governor gave this warning in a statement issued by his senior special adviser on media and publicity, Opunabo Inko-Tariah. The statement reads in part; "as the Chief Security Officer of the state who swore to protect life and property, he will not tolerate actions that will lead to a breakdown of law and order in the state".
While assuring residents and all those transacting businesses in the state of safety as they go about their lawful businesses, he warned that the coercive legal machinery will be set in motion against any group that disrupts the peace in the state.
