In order to avoid mayhem and chaos, the Kwara State
government has cancelled the Independence Anniversary parade to take place at
the Metropolitan Square in Illorin, state capital of Kwara. They did this after
hearing alleged reports that some folks arrived the metropolis only to disrupt
the celebration and cause violence.
Secretary to the Governmen, Sola Gold, has said the security
personnel in the state received news of the arrival of unwanted elements whose
sole aim is to cause bedlam during the Independence parade scheduled to take
place at Metropolitan Square.
Recollect that last week’s Eid prayers was interrupted by
distressed people who came to boo Saraki who was worshipping at the prayer
ground.
