Hey, hey, hey, people! The "anything-goes, jollof" music season is over, as
British singer-songwriter, Adele, has decided to come back from her over two years hiatus to
bless us with some sweet music again.
The "Someone like you" crooner, today, released the first single plus an accompanying video from
her upcoming album “25” which would be out November 20, via her official
website. The single is titled “Hello”.
The singer who is reputed for making masterclass sad songs (great musical pieces anyways) which usually have the theme of love gone wrong, continues with this trend in "hello". The single is about someone trying to reach out to an ex to make sure the jilted lover is okay long after the their breakup. The video to the song is shot in black-and-white with Tristan Wilds playing the role of the ex-boyfriend Adele is trying to contact.
Talking about the forthcoming album 25, in a facebook post, Adele stated, "My last record was a breakup record and if I had to label this one I would call it a make-up record". She added that she's now, "making up for lost time. Making up for everything I ever did and never did". This is in line with some lyrics of the song's chorus which go thus,
"I must've called a thousand times to tell you I'm sorry for everything that I've done/ At least I can say that I've tried to tell you I'm sorry for breaking your heart. But it don't matter, it clearly doesn't tear you apart anymore"
It seems Adele still has lots of aggrieved ex-lovers to attend to; just when we're all thinking her gloomy days are over...anyways, I'm more than excited she's back. I don't care if she sings sad songs, as long as she sings. I've so missed her!
Welcome back, Adele...
