Fulani herdsmen kidnapped former
secretary to the Government of the Federation, Olu Falae, from his farm on
September 21, 2015. The abductors asked for a ransom of ₦100 million. The
awon oles! (The thieves)
Anyway, the Falae’s didn't state
how much they paid. The police was taking the glory for the “rescue” but the
Falae’s openly stated that the police had nothing to do with his release. The
police were saying that there was no ransom paid. The Falae’s were saying they
paid a ransom. Who was lying? I was clueless. But the truth is now out in the
open.
New gist is that Falae has
identified his abductors!
The police apprehended robbers
that raided a new generation bank in Trans-Amadi, Port Harcourt, and recovered ₦137m
from them. The police in Akure, Ondo State, paraded these robbers before Falae.
He was able to identify three of
the robbers as the people that kidnapped him. Their names are: Abubakar Auta, Bello Jannu, Umaru Ibrahim,
Masahudu Muhammed, and Idris Lawal.
Three of the suspects confessed
that their share of the ₦5m was 100k each. Imagine! These
herdsmen couldn’t speak English. There was an interpreter close by to interpret
what they said to the police.

Abubakar Auta, one of the gang leaders, was arrested in Niger State with
N823,900 cash. The cash wrappers of a commercial bank in Akure were discovered
in the booth of the vehicle driven by the suspect before his arrest.
Something struck me in this story: the suspects couldn’t speak English.
Yet, they were able to communicate to Falae that they’d kill him if the ransom wasn't
paid. Another thing is that they asked
for a ₦100 million ransom yet they received ₦5milion.
Those three suspects received 100k
each from the ransom money. The rest part went to...?
Time will tell.
