We all know Donald Trump and how he likes to run his mouth, right? Well, just when you think that he can't get any sillier, he comes up with a new snide utterance that makes us really wonder about his sanity.
What baffles me the most is the fact that he keeps getting popular in the polls, and he might just nick the republican ticket to contest in the 2016 presidential election, which would be most unfortunate. (Yes, I said "unfortunate" because that is what a choice between him and
closest rival, Ben Carson, is). I wonder at the sanity of Americans, especially republicans who are supporting these two men to be the President of the world's most powerful country.
Trump and Carson have said it all; even dumb comments that are below Mr Bean's I.Q (You know Mr. Bean, right? The hilariously dumb British comedian).
Mr. Trump followed his statement that, 'America has no business with Africans because Africans are enemies of progress' with an equally-dumb outburst that women prefer to wear burka (the Islamic full-length veil-clothing Muslim women wear) because they don't have to wear make-up. This was Mr. Trump's "brilliant" illustration to buttress his point that the US should stop intervening in the Middle East. (In case you didn't get it, "brilliant" here is used sarcastically).
He said this at a rally in New Hampshire in his speech which read partly,
"I saw a woman interviewed. They said 'we want to wear them (burkas), we've worn them for a thousand years. Why would anybody tell us not to?' They want to! What the hell are we getting involved for?....Fact is, it's easy. You don't have to put on makeup, look how beautiful everyone looks. Wouldn't it be easier? Right? Wouldn't it be easy? I'll tell ya, if I was a woman, I'm ready darling, let's go"
With this latest remarks, Trump may have bitten more than he can chew as this is an attack against religion; not just any religion but the Islam religion! He would surely get some. But knowing Trump and how smug he can be, the man just won't care.
I'm now waiting (cup of tea in hand, a la Kermit the Frog) for Ben Carson's just as silly remark because I have this theory that, it's a game they both play - the 'Who-can-make-the-stupidest-of-comments' game.
They both can continue dropping the silly lines, it's entertainment to us.
