A Lagos State High Court
in Ikeja has dismissed the suit filed against the police by Ebi Tosan on the
grounds that it is lacking merit.
Ebi Tosan was one of the
four robbery suspects of the Lekki robbery paraded by the police.
He was arrested on April 5th,
2015. His lawyer Chief S Baidi argued that his client’s arrest, detention, and
torture without bail was against his constitutional rights to personal liberty,
freedom of movement, and presumption of innocence.
The judge dismissed the
suit on the grounds that Tosan didn't provide enough evidence to back his claim.
The gang, made up of
Tosan, Duke Odogbo, Ekelemo Kuete, and Lawrence Kingsley would remain in
custody.
