Two women who urinated in front of a Muslim family in a park in Plymouth England have been served a jail term of 12 months. A Muslim family were quietly praying during a picnic in
Plymouth’s Central Park on August 16, when two drunken women ran towards
them shouting racist abuse.
The women were Natalie Richardson, 32, and Claire Farrell, 36, who pulled down their underwear and urinated within metres of the praying Syrians. At one point, Richardson even attacked the passerby, who tried to calm the crazy women down. They pleaded guilty to religiously-aggravated threatening and
abusive behaviour causing harassment. They were given the six-month jail
term that was later suspended for 12 months and will have to work with
probation.
The prosecution said the Muslim couple were both Syrian, but they
have been living in the country for many years. The woman, 38, works
as a teacher and the husband, 46, is employed in a surgery.
One of the Muslim women who witnessed it said: “I found it particularly shocking was how these women displayed such offensive behaviour to people who praying. A lot of horrific things have happened in the name of Islam which we do not condone at all. A lot of people are branding us the same as terrorists. This incident just served to increase the fears for both myself and my children.”
